Contract work

Approval routes

The route is chosen by document properties: amount, type, jurisdiction, department and counterparty verdict. A contract does not get lost in email.

What’s inside

  • Steps are sequential or parallel: all approvers are needed, or one is enough.
  • Step conditions: amount threshold, document type, jurisdiction, initiating department, restrictions in the counterparty verdict, deferred payment, a non-template document.
  • Approver: an employee, a role, the head of the initiating department, the head of legal, the responsible lawyer or the counterparty.
  • Decisions: approve, approve with comments, reject or return to a selected step.
  • A comment is tied to a selected text fragment and has a status.
  • A substitute approves during a vacation or business trip, the step deadline drives escalation, and auto-approval on expiry is enabled separately.
  • The counterparty gets a one-time link by email and approves the text without signing in.

FAQ

Can a counterparty approve a contract without registering?

Yes. The counterparty contact gets a one-time link and approves the text or requests changes. This is approval, not signing: signing happens separately, through A3.EDM.

What happens if an approver is on vacation?

A substitute is assigned for the period of absence. If a step is not completed on time, escalation is triggered, and auto-approval on expiry can be enabled for individual steps.
